A TEAM of graphic designers from Yangon won two awards at the 4th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) last week in Nanning, China, for the design of the Myanmar pavilion at the event.

The prizes for best exhibition design and most creative display were awarded to Ko Myo Min Oo, Ko Okkar Moe Myint and Ko Nay Hiaing, from the Yangon-based Atomic Digital Art group, who collaborated in the design of the pavilion.

"We are very proud to win these prizes," Ko Myo Min Oo told The Myanmar Times in Nanning. "We spent months designing the pavilion for the expo and now our efforts have been recognised. We are really happy for that."

Ms Yan Changhui, a project official from the CAEXPO Secretariat, said there were no second or third prizes awarded. "There is only first place and Myanmar should be proud that they won both prizes," she said.

U Tint Thwin, the director of the international Trade Promotion Department under the Ministry of Commerce, said some Chinese companies were so impressed by the work of the three prize winners that they have offered them design jobs in China at high salaries.
