Mandalay Restaurant and Cafe is a authentic Burmese restaurant located in Downtown Silver Spring. Sunday special "Dan Pauk" ( Basmati rice served with two pieces of chicken with authentic spiced onion curry ) is my favorite. The Thursday special "Ohn Hta Min" ( Coconut rice served with two pices of chicken with onion base curry ) is also good.
Other famous dishes are "Samosas" and "heeSone Hin vegetable soup". The modest prices-entrees average $8-keep Mandalay's seats filled. The main complaint about Mandalay is that the entrees are somewhat small.
