Yangon zoological garden
Yangon zoological garden is located in 69.25 acres garden in middle of Yangon. It is establish in 1906. It use to be terrible shape, recent privatization of the zoo make it a lot of better both for visitors and animals.
The zoo has about 300 tree species, totaling over 15000 trees and 59 species of mammals 60 species of birds and 18 species of reptiles, amounting to over 1300 species.
It is a good outing place for people of Yangon city, the zoo also contain of amusement park for kids. It has a number of rides; the train ride around the zoo in particular is a memorable for children. The zoo has free snake and elephant shows on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. It also has Elephant rides, three minutes rides cost about 500 Kyat.
