Sagaing
Sagaing is the capital city Sagaing Division in Myanmar. It is located on the west bank of Ayeyarwaddy River. It is about 21 km southwest on the opposite bank of Ayeyarwaddy river from Mandalay (second largest city in Myanmar). Ava (Inwa) bridge build by British across Ayeyarwaddy River connects Sagaing with Mandalay, and make it easier for people to travel to Sagaing from Mandalay.
Sagaing use to be the capital of an independent Shan Kingdom around 1315 after the fall of Bagan, and then once more between 1760 and 1764.
Sagaing is a peaceful place and it is well known for its Buddhist monasteries. Pilgrims around the country comes to Sagaing to meditate. Mingun Bell is thought to be the world largest working bell, it weight about 90 metric tons is located at Sagaing.
