Bago (also known as Pegu) is a capital city of Bago Division in Myanmar. It is about 100 kilomemters (2 hours bus ride) away from Yangon. Bago used to be the capital of Mon Kingdom. It also used to be capital of Myanmar under Taungoo Kingdom

Bago is the home of Shewmawdaw Pagoda, which is thought to hold two strands of Budhha hair. You could find a lot of large reclining Buddha statues in Bago.
