Myingyan
MyinGyan is a city in Mandalay division, in the central part of Myanmar. It is an important cotton trading center. It is also famous for the production of peanut and sesame oil, as well as Burmese cheroot.
Weather is dry, temperature can vary from 70F to 106F. Cold temperature, humidity and dust could make the road misty in some mornings. On market days, the sound of horses and cows carriages bringing agriculture products from the farm towns nearby can bring a distinct sense of rural feeling to the city. Horse carriages and bicycles are typical ways of transportation in Myingyan.
You could reach Myingyan via boat (Irrawady river), rail or cars. The easiest way to travel is via train, the Ragoon-Tharzi-Myingyan route.
Myingayin is also famous for its Buddhist meditation schools of thoughts, Soonlune Monastery and its founder, Soonlune Sayardawgyi, is well known around the country for its unique style of meditation through breathing.
